Privacy Charter

Last updated: October 2026

Article IPreamble and identity

North Star Guide (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates northstarmedguide.shop. We are a private company providing a free informational and referral service about Medicare. We are not an insurer, a plan, or any part of the government. This charter describes what we do with information about you. Contact: privacy@northstarmedguide.shop.

Article IIInformation we receive

From you: when you complete the lead form on our site you may provide your name, ZIP code, age or date of birth, telephone number, email address, and your answers about the kind of help you want. We ask that you not submit your Medicare number, Social Security number, financial account numbers or detailed health records.

Automatically: IP address, device and browser details, pages visited, referring site and approximate location, gathered through cookies and similar technology.

Article IIIUse of information

We use information to answer your request; to pass it to licensed agents and partner organizations so they can respond; to run, secure and improve the site; to analyze how the chart, route and index are used; to prevent misuse; and to meet legal duties.

Article IVDisclosure to partners and providers

When you submit a request, we may disclose your information to licensed insurance agents, agencies and independent partner organizations, including those in our gazetteer, so they can contact you about Medicare-related products and services. Those organizations operate independently and use information under their own privacy notices.

We also rely on vendors for hosting, analytics, communications and form technology. They may process information for us under contract. We do not sell personal information for money. Where the law treats certain disclosures to partners or advertising technology as a “sale” or “sharing,” you can opt out as described in Article VII.

Article VConsent to communications

By submitting a form that displays a consent statement, you authorize North Star Guide and the licensed agents or partners who receive your request to contact you by telephone, text message and email, using automated dialing technology or prerecorded or artificial voices where applicable, at the number and address you give, including numbers on federal or state Do Not Call registries. Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies. Consent is not required to use this site or to purchase anything, and you may withdraw it at any time by telling the caller, replying STOP, or writing to privacy@northstarmedguide.shop.

Article VICookies and similar technology

Cookies keep the site working and show us, in aggregate, how it is used. You may refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features may then work less well. We honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as required by law.

Article VIIChoices and opt-out

You may ask us to stop marketing to you, to stop disclosing your information to partners, to delete your information, or to correct it. Write to privacy@northstarmedguide.shop with your name and the contact details you used. Organizations that already hold your information must be contacted directly, and we will help point you to them.

Article VIIICalifornia and state-law rights

California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; to delete or correct information; to opt out of sale or sharing; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and to be free from retaliation for exercising these rights. Residents of certain other states hold similar rights. We will verify requests and respond within the period the law gives us. An authorized agent may act for you with written permission.

Article IXMinors

North Star Guide is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18; if you believe we have, tell us and we will remove it.

Article XSafeguards and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection. We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes in this charter, or longer if the law requires.

Article XIAmendment

We may amend this charter. The “Last updated” date marks the current version; continued use of the site after an amendment means you accept it.

Article XIIAffiliation notice and contact

This site is operated by a private company, is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. Questions about this charter: privacy@northstarmedguide.shop.
